Mary L. Carter
was born in Kennewick, Washington, on January 20th. At a very
early age she had the uncanny talent for being out going and
the center of attention. Mary was everybody's best friend,
with the ability to make people laugh, as well as, terrorize
the neighborhood. Mary was the first born and the older of two
children on her mothers' side of the family with a younger
brother named David.
Mary's mother, Diane Carter and father, Joe
Evans separated when Mary was at an extremely young age.
Mary’s mother Diane, raised both Mary and her brother while
managing to attend college and pursue a career, along with the
assistance from Mary's grandparents, Dave and Dorothy Carter
(R.I.P. Dorothy Carter 8/2004). As a result of her parents
early separation Mary knew very little about her biological
father. The only items she had were ' 8x10 headshot photos of
her father and an early copy of his entertainment resume. Joe
Evans had been a prominent part of the entertainment industry
throughout his career. He has left his mark in many ways as an
actor, singer, artist, and composer. Among his many
achievements, he had written lyrics for Lou Rawls, as well as,
performing and touring with the group.
After a 20-year separation, Mary's searching allowed her to
find and meet her father, Joe Evans. Mary also discovered that
she was the youngest child on her father's side of the family.
With two older brothers named Joe Evans (R.I.P. Joe Evans
12/2004) and Costie Harris. Her sister, Jorine Evans is still
missing. Mary's father, Joe Evans, passed away in 1999; only
five years after the two were reunited.
Mary's longing for her father started at a very young age, and
is just one of the reasons why her interest in the world of
entertainment, is so strong. This passion and desire still
burns brightly within her today. |
